Work Pictures and Fun
Next week will be National Medical Staff Services Week. Therefore, we have to have a picture taken for a flyer that will be put out at the hospital. The fabulous ladies in our office decided we we would take our pictures at Beidenharn Gardens this year. Here are some of the pictures that I took....as you can see, we had a lot of fun!

What a Monday
Yesterday, Mer and I thought we would attempt to take fall/halloween pictures of our darling little angel pups. Let me tell you, it was an adventure.
It all started around 5 pm, when Mer and Chloe (her Boston Terrier) stopped by my house to pick up Lily (my Scottish Terrier) and me, as well as load up the fall/halloween decor for the pictures. Our goal was to find a wheat field, a rustic fence, field of hay bails, or anything that would make the perfect fall backdrop for our pictures.
Well, I knew just the place, or the road rather. I can't exactly tell you where it is, because I do not know the name of the road, nor do I know the general area of the road. I just know you have to drive twenty minutes out of town to get there.
Loading everything into the vehicle was a mission all on its own. Two puppies + arms full of pumpkins + long leashes + oncoming traffic + two uncoordinated mommies = CHAOS. It took us about fifteen minutes to get everything loaded and into the vehicle, only to find that our sweet little puppies wanted to not only call shot gun, but drive the car! We finally got everyone situated in their proper seats and off we went! What else could get worse???
The ride over there was a mess! It started off normal, in fact, I can honestly say that the first half/ten minutes of the trip was completely normal! However, I can not say the same for the second half. Not only was there a viscious, blood sucking bug in the car attacking Meredith, who just so happened to be driving, my "darling, angel" pup peed on me! Okay, I will be fair, she did not just pee on me, rather, she was over excited and trickled urine on my pants. It was enough to make it appear as if I had messed myself! In the mean time, Mer has cornered the blood sucking bug into a corner (all while driving down the road) and squished it. Blood was everywhere! The mosquito was apparently full of blood and literally burst when she killed him.
The last five minutes of our drive (which, by the way, seemed like an eternity) was complete with the both of us gagging, coughing, and nearly dying from laughing, all while Mer continued to drive down the road!
Our destination (somewhere 20 minutes out of town) was the perfect spot. The road I had chosen was perfect. There were fields of hay, there were fields of beautiful trees, rustic fences and grown up fields. It was the perfect back drop for our pictures. So, Mer and I chose a location, pulled over and proceeded to unload all of our decorations, and our pups. After two minutes of decorating the scene, we both realize that not only have we chosen the perfect location, we have chosen the breeding grounds of a gazillion mosquitos! We were covered!!! After minutes, which seemed like hours, of flailing about, we threw everything back into the car and drove furiously down the road with the windows down to get all of the viscious, blood sucking bugs off of ourselves, and out of the car!
On to Plan B.....
Somewhere down the road, once all of the mosquitos seemed to be gone, we pulled into our second location. It was a nice paved area that had pretty trees, cut grass, and a pond with tall grass growing in the far distance. We decided this would have to work, so we got out, unloaded the pups and walked around. There appeared to be no mosquitos until Mer popped the trunk! I swear ten billion of the suckers flew out of there, all trapped in there from our first stop. I think we were there a total of five minutes before we had to leave. Not only were the pups having too much fun to obey any comand, Chloe was eating Mr. Scarecrow, Lily was wrapping Mer and I together, and the mosquitos found us!
We gave up....
You would think that after all of the chaos, we would be able to just relax and enjoy or ride home, with the windows down. You would think this, however, this was not the case. Somewhere between the Mall Exit and the Bastrop Exit, Chloe decided to go potty potty on the backseat. The smell nearly ran us all out of the vehicle, however, there was no where to pull over. After we finally were able to pull over and clean up the mess, we went home!

FYI: Our puppies normally are little angels! They have never done some of the things they did yesterday, therefore, I would like to blame everything on the mosquitos and the craziness/excitement of the whole afternoon! It was a rodeo!!!
Here are some of the attempted pictures......we plan to try again later in the week.

Day Six: Picture of The Day
One of these is the original, unedited picture! Can you guess which one? I have a Nikon D60 and I love it! I honestly need to go and take some classes so I can learn more about it and what I am actually doing. Photography is only a hobby of mine, however, I would love to learn how to do all those neat little tricks!

Day Five: Picture of The Day
As you can tell....it is raining this morning! I took this picture as I was waiting for my ride to work. As some of you may know, I am without a vehicle!
Funny story....
I was on my way back to Monroe yesterday from my parents house. We had a rather large get together at my parents house to celebrate my dad's birthday. The road was wet, so I wasn't even driving the full 70 mph that is allowed on I-20, when my windshield wiper snapped!!!!! It was pouring down rain, so I pulled over. I honestly had no clue what to do, so I called daddy!
Long story short....it took me a whole hour to drive two miles into Monroe! Meredith had to come and rescue me!!! It was a mess!!!! If it wouldn't have been raining, this wouldn't be an issue....but I guess if it wasn't raining, I wouldn't have been using my windshield wiper to begin with!!!!
Day Four: Picture of The Day
Day Three: Picture of The Day
I would like to introduce you all to War Paint, a.k.a. ScarFace! This little kitty is the reason I believe cats really do have nine lives.
